End2End Holdings completes €24 million equity financing from HP and DB Capital Venture Partners
End2End Holdings, a wireless applications infrastructure provider (WAIP), today announced that it has secured approximately €24 million in one of the largest European private equity rounds completed in the last twelve months by a wireless service provider. This is in addition to the €15 million already invested by DB Capital Venture Partners.
The financing will enable End2End to continue the build out of its carrier-grade network to host, manage and deliver a range of wireless data solutions to wireless network operators and other channel partners. End2End’s customers include One2One, Sonofon and Telia DK, as well as a distribution agreement with Dangaard, Europe’s largest mobile phone value-added distributor.
Hewlett-Packard Company’s decision to take up the option to transfer its financing of End2End to an equity position further bolsters End2End’s existing relationship with HP as a strategic partner. End2End is an integral part of HP’s wireless strategy to fuel the development of mobile e-services through initiatives such as the HP Mobile e-Services Bazaar, which brings together more than 500 mobile technology companies.
”We are delighted to extend our relationship with End2End Holdings. Key to the HP vision of mobility is the proliferation of mobile e-services and our renewed commitment to End2End demonstrates the strength of this belief and our confidence in End2End’s business strategy,” stated Alex Hawker, General Manager, HP Network & Service Provider Business – Western Europe.
“We are very pleased to see HP taking a significant equity position in the company as it signals the strategic importance of End2End Holdings to the wireless offering of HP. This financing will allow management to focus on growing the company and step up its sales efforts to pursue some of the exciting opportunities we have been presented with,” said Jim Reynolds, Chief Executive of End2End Holdings.
Commenting on the financing, Roy Merritt, co-head of DB Capital Venture Partners and End2End Board member said: “We are pleased to support companies like End2End that combine an ambitious corporate vision with a clear path to profitability, and are led by a strong executive management team. ”
